Undeniable Loneliness

Busy lives and filled calendars
an overflowing schedule book
office meetings, family visits
no speed limit on that road you took.

Children raised by day care nannies
produced by parents on the run
scared to miss out on a promotion
you’d rather die than be outdone.

Power lunch down to the minute
got to catch the faster train
hustle through another day
no time to think if it’s lived in vain.

If you would stop just for a moment
you’d see the sky’s never been this blue
nature breathes, God shines upon you
there are still marvels, but you have no clue.

Time commitments numb your spirit
there’s never room for an empty thought
those suffocating obligations
wash away the lost battle you fought.

On few days longing overpowers
and lust becomes the center stage
mindless sex instead of loving
you forced yourself into that cage.

Amongst your breed you feel secure
but grasping hands are affectionless
when dusk prevails your heart still yearns
and you can’t deny your loneliness.

Serenity (Tanka)

Earth’s most perfect spot
wings, serenity and peace
victor over pain
deep belief in love prevails
vicious dragons will be slain

Hello Friends,

I composed the above Tanka for a friend of mine a while back. She needed a place to curl up and to find comfort. Since we live several thousand miles apart, I could give her comfort only in verse.
I would like to offer it to anyone in need of a little serenity.

Would you like to know more about my work? I will be on Blog Talk Radio today, Tuesday, March 25th, 4:30p.m. EST speaking with host Rita Schiano. You will find us here: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/rita

Have a wonderful day!

You Love Me

You love me – you say
in your arms I sway
because your eyes don’t lie
and I close mine with a sigh.

You need me – you say
letting your fingers play
and your lips whisper an oath
a promise to be kept by us both.

You want me – you say
unclaimed passion every day
under my skin white as snow
the fast vibration of my pulse’s flow.

You take me – you say
and keep me, I pray
beyond the sky you allow
for my desire to grow
and you will never betray
because you love me………you say. Continue reading You Love Me

May I introduce myself?

belong
(senryu by Rebecca Lerwill)
totally unknown
a book changes everything
now I’m introduced

Hello there,

A few days ago I found an invitation to join publicliterature.org in my inbox. Honestly, I never heard of such website before, but after looking things over I was thrilled that someone suggested to me to join this bunch of very talented writers.

So here I am and I would like to introduce myself and my humble work to you:
My debut novel ‘Relocating Mia’ is a romantic story filled with drama and suspense. I will post a short synopsis below, but let me just add that Relocating Mia received the honor of being named a Finalist in the USA Book News, Best Books Awards in 2007.
Needless to say, I was surprised at first and then very pleased with this honor. As of today, the sequel to Relocating Mia is in full swing.
‘The Acronym’ should be ready for publishing by the fall of 2008 and I plan on posting a few sample chapters here for your review.

As a new author I very much appreciate constructive criticism and honest opinions from those, who are much wiser about this beautiful craft, than I am.
At times I will also post a few selected poems and articles I may have already blogged about on my blog-site or on authorsden.com
My personal website gets updated several times a week, so please feel free to stop by anytime.

Relocating Mia by Rebecca Lerwill
synopsis:

Mia Trentino is the top relocating specialist at Worldmove, Inc., and her latest assignment is sending her to Siberia, Russia. But the new job comes with a new partner: a handsome threat to her career named Douglas Farland.

After a rocky start, the job is going well, and things begin to heat up between Mia and Douglas. Then, lies and secrets begin to surface that make Mia suspect her new partner might have a different agenda. What seemed like a simple relocation erupts into a cat-and-mouse game of intrigue full of drug smuggling, secret agents, and the Red Mafia. Suddenly Mia’s in a fight for her life, and she may have to trust the one person who seems the most to blame.

I Am But a Wounded Bird

I sit at my desk….thinking about the significance

of the chocolates that he gave to me today

His…a surprise above any thinking of mine own

I am doing all that I can to not cry for myself

For I am so frightened by any signs of a promised love

I am but a wounded bird

Who flies above the world with eyes patched to darkness

Praying and hoping that this…will some how pass me by

Because I can not endure the passions of my own heart

I am a masterpiece for the macabre to a spirit

That withers in the wind

As I think of the touch of his lips as soft as the pillow of which I lay my head

Why am I so frightened of love?

And what shall I do about it?

Time is passing me by and I am so tired of running

For there have been so many suitors… of no interest to me

Fear has lead me here…as I search for answers from my God above

Has he sent me love?

Or a false imitation of a fear to be known?

I…the wounded bird…cursed by what I can not see

I… the wounded bird who sits at her desk

In fancy of you….my love…who moves about my mind and soul

As the white doves fly through the merciful clouds

That adorns the Heavenly skies

I can not lie

I am but a wounded bird

Who is, but a hopeless slave to her own fears
