Mandya

mandya the name comes from a saint mandavya. it's just 40km from well known mysore and 100km from bangalore. it has got the world famous brindavan garadens(krishna raja sagar reservoir), shivana samudram(bluff) water falls with hydro-elctricity generation plant(first in asia), Sriranga pattana(port of great tippu sultran), bird century and melukote temple. The river cauvery is the main source of mandya through krishna raja sagar reservoir. Paddy and sugar can is the main crops. Its also called as sugar cup of karanataka.
