Head teacher
In the UK and elsewhere, a head teacher is the most senior teacher in a school. While some still retain some teaching responsibility, most of their duties are managerial and pastoral.A male head teacher may be called a headmaster; a female a headmistress (the former sometimes two words, the latter usually not); either may also be referred to as "the head".
A school may aslo have a deputy head.
