Mary Terzian

Born and raised in Cairo. Armenian background. Lived in Congo, Togo and Lebanon, before immigrating to the United States. Well traveled. Served in the United Nations for eight years. Always loved to write. Contributed articles, in Armenian and in English, to numerous publications, abroad and in the United States. Won PEN West USA scholarship in 2001. Authored "The Immigrants' Daughter" in 2005 which won the USA Best Books 2006 Award in multicultural non-fiction. Finalist in Indie Excellence Awards 2007 contest, for same book in same category. Involved in volunteer work, in ethnic and local organizations, which provide a rich background for articles and essays.
