This journey of life has been challenging, yet a spiritual enlightenment in many respects. The many people I have met along the way have taught me humility and an appreciation for all life. Spending time with family and close friends is most important, rewarding and it is with their support that I write today. Working my way through college at night and being a single mother of four has been both challenging and an inspiration for me to reflect back upon. I have many hobbies and with each the most rewarding part is in sharing with others. My favorite choice is to be out in nature whether walking along the beach or some lonely dirt road in the woods. Exploring, observing and learning is always an on going process. I have written three books to date: "Inside Out, Upside Down and Backwards!" $17.95 (A collection of poetry) Author: Karen Palumbo "The Struggle, First Generation" $18.95 Author: Karen Palumbo (Fiction) "Age of Entitlement and Expectation" $19.95 (Non-fiction) Authors: Karen (and Robert Palumbo)Visit Author's Website

“The Struggle, First Generation”
Chapter One: The Beginning
You find yourself beginning to lie back on your bed, your legs dangling off the side, in your bedroom. You have your arms folded around your head, your hands crossed under the back of your neck, while you are just staring off into space. Your bedroom window is [...]
“Infinite Universe”
Infinite Universe….
Demands of the day have halted to a hush,
all is quiet now, the hour is late.
Time to think, to clear out the mind,
a chance to make sense of all on the plate.
Take a walk outside, feel the sand at my feet,
glowing moon is overhead hiding in clouds.
Ocean water lapping a slow and steady rhythm,
while [...]
Beloved Land…..
Beloved Land…..
The time is here, the time is now,
to rejoice in prayer for our beloved land.
Birthing an idea, not time to recompense,
a place of freedom, no lines in the sand.
An unheard of ideology many dared to wonder,
if this great land [...]
Rat – a-tat…..
Rat-a-tat…..
Rat-a-tat, tat, tat Rat-a-tat, tat, tat,
is the lonely sound of a small worn drum.
The sound is recognizable all around [...]
We Observe…..
We Observe…..
A day of celebration,
as a nation, we observe.
To all our brave,
who were and are willing to serve.Time to reflect,
think, take heed.
Do we know our wants?
In addition perhaps, our need.
Army, Navy, Air Force,
Marine, Special Forces.
Each does their job,
with very few resources.
Through summer heat,
and winter’s bitter cold.
Our brave men and women,
endure on, remaining bold.
Always keeping sight,
what [...]

I would like to say a few words about this “Age of Entitlement and Expectation”. Does anyone really know what it even means in today’s world? Exactly what it is? It has occurred to me that we are all surrounded with it every waking moment of [...]
Circle of love….
Circle of love……
Allow me to tell of a woman I know,
spreading love and joy always anew.
A good family she came, then she grew,
her very own family, from a circle of two.A [...]
Puppies Delight….
Puppies Delight…..
Sweet little puppy only hours old,
shaking and twitching, are you cold.
Wrapped in a towel, your fur to dry,
you wiggle and squeak but you do not cry.Eyes closed tight, your tongue of pink,
brothers and sisters coming in a wink.
Better move over make room for another,
guess who is getting tired, not you, your mother.
How many birthdays [...]
