The beat that skips with your touch,
The gasp that draws when you clutch,
The urge that pangs when you look,
The grin that forms with what you took.
The butterflies with every kiss,
The longing for every breath I miss,
The frailty that grows with your smile,
The memory that falls with every mile.
The deepest insight to your mind,
The love that gets harder to find,
The shame that I feel as you roll your eyes,
The nerve of you to tell all those lies!
The time I felt this all before,
The times you kicked me to the floor,
Heartbreak repeats and it’s always here,
It starts with you, and ends with a tear.
