What If I Called This Romance?

Something so bright it vanishes,

Beyond believability,

To suffer a feeling I’ve never known.

Vanquished by my vanity.

If only the curtain never closed,

If there was more to the act,

What if the road to forever was real,

And the pavement never cracked?

My mind plays tricks and calls them dreams,

But am I really there?

If I feel my feet on the ground,

It doesn’t mean I’m aware.

And If I scream it makes a sound,

By the rules of science,

But somehow there’s an exception to me,

My body finds my defiance.

If ignorance is bliss, what’s this?

Love is a two way stream,

I thought if someone looked they saw,

But nothing is what it seems.

I’ll try my best to kid myself,

Make myself take this chance,

Would it trick me to force a smile?

What if I called this “romance”?

Very nice poem indeed. I love the poems here.

I’ve heard though, this site is looking for poets/writers. I wonder; is it at any chance, possible to post any of my poems here?

Thank you.

Very beautiful writing.
